| 19.00hrs Caller suggested they were from National Trust. Stated that over the last year NT had had problems with their data base of members. Asked for NT number but when I was slow finding it they had it,correctly, to hand. KEPT insisting they would not be asking for any 'sensitive' information. Very polite and chatty perhaps realising I was an older person. Did I still enjoy my membership etc. Eventually started talking about subs. due soon.Again stressed NO sensitive info required! Spoke about direct debit payment and wanted me to confirm BANK SORT CODE. At this point I said because of disability I was considering not staying a member this year and the call was promptly terminated. I shall obviously be contacting the NT with this info. | |

| Rang my mobile and then hung up as soon as I answered. I think I recall this number from four months or so back: same thing - mobile rings, I answer, they hang up and then my house 'phone immediately rings and they want to speak to the owner. Sounds like a scam. | |

| Same thing as above telling me I have a virus. Told him the pc wasn't on and no I wasn't going to put it on. A friend also had this call and they wanted to take over the pc remotely in order to deal with said virus. Very worrying as they had correct names wonder where they are getting the information from | |

| Was called 17th January 2012 at about 8.30 by this number. A well spoken girl who sounded businesslike gave me a name. The tone made me suspect a cold selling call when I was asked for by name so I asked " Who wants to know?" "it's her bank calling". "Not at this time of night, it's not!" and I hung up. Reported to Nuisance call Bureau and to police. Obviously some sort of scam. BEWARE. Banks do NOT cold call! Odd that one was able to get the number by dialling 1471 in the circumstances. | |

| I had a call from an Indian chap who had difficulty in speaking English but I gather he said he was setting up a well-being centre due to open shortly in our nearest town so I told him I wasn't interested and put the phone down. | |

| Just received a call about an issue with my PC. When i started questioning him the issue changed from a PC to a laptop (my work one). I work in IT and he just ignored this and carried on talking over me. I had to get very strong with him and re-iterate that I work with IT every day of the week and my knowledge of IT was strong enough to know I did not need his help. | Claims to be on behalf of Microsoft. Told me they noticed I have a virus on my computer. I asked her which one as I have several running at the moment and asked her for the IP address but she didn't know what I was talking about. Scarily, she knew my name and address. This is a well known scam, they offer to fix it for a small fee, take your credit card details, charge you up to 10 times more than they say, give you a link to click to download the solution but the link actually sends a small program to your PC to log all your credit card transactions and bank details if you bank on-line and then they take all your money. Advise is: HANG UP and tell them nothing | |

| got acall today 05/01/2012 at 1045hrs asking me to type random letters into my run box on my computer.they stated they are from windows and there was a problem with my computer.i played along for a little while but did not type anything into my computer.they had a very strong indian accent. i would advice not to do anything they say. | |

| I had a call they are chasing people that had accidents, they asked if my claim was handled OK when I asked and quired it, they claim to be working as a claims party and wanted to ensure that I was happy with my completed claim and if there was anything els they could do, I replied No all has been settled, they then said you was hit from behind is this true, I then said it was only my wing mirror my van was stationary and my van was empty !!!!! they just put the phone down that seems to be it at the moment, ( they are chasing claims ) and trying to get business by tricking people. | |

| Just had a call from 01452510059, wanted to speak to my husband, I explained unable to talk due to medical condition, I advised I deal with all the financies, and that I have power of attorney, he advised all he wants is 2 letters from his mother maiden name, I advised he would not know this as i deal with the financies, he then asked me for my dob and 2 letter from my mother maiden name, I did not give this info as I advised the caller how do I know he's from Barclays, he said well seeing as I cant talk to your husband I'll leave it. Not too sure what to make of this call, if I have had a call from Barclays before and I have been sceptical, they will normally give me something in the way of my info to prove who they are plus they would not keep insisting on talking to my husband, | |
